How did I create Blog Porter?

Blog Porter didn't start as a grand vision, it started as a frustration.

In 2025 I was helping a friend migrating her Wix blog to WordPress after receiving a notice that her costs with Wix would double. She had around 80 posts and I assumed it would be pretty straightforward to export the data from one platform to the other. I was so wrong.

Just like my friend, many Wix users have been moving away from that platform and Wix decided to make their exits as hard as possible. Wix added road blocks and removed official ways that were once available to users. The only way out is a long and tedious copy-paste process.

My frustration with the process prompted me to do something about it, not just for me but for other Wix users who would face the same situation. I decided to create a tool to take care of the migration to WordPress, and that tool is Blog Porter.

The problem no one talks about

Platforms compete hard for your content when you arrive. Onboarding is smooth, prices are attractive, support is helpful.

Then, a price hike. Then another. At some point you start looking around for alternatives and you decide to jump ship… and just like you, others followed the same path.

But making your content exportable is just part of the migration process. There is a second step of making sure all the content from platform A is structured and formatted in a way that platform B recognizes and shows it.

Your content is yours. You wrote it, built an audience around it, earned SEO rankings with it. But the moment you try to take it somewhere else, the platforms quietly make it as hard as possible. This is the gap Blog Porter was built to fill.

What we built

Blog Porter is a content migration tool. You write your Wix blog, Medium archive or Blogger URL, we analyze and convert your posts into a clean WordPress-ready export file.

Depending on what platforms allow, we can preserve your original slugs, publishing dates, authors, categories, featured images, and rich text formatting.

No coding needed. No account creation. Just a fast, clean export that imports natively into WordPress and the Gutenberg editor.

Who's behind this

Blog Porter was build by João Piedade, one of the founders of Azor Studio. We are a small independent team in the Azores, a Portuguese archipelago of 9 islands in the middle of the Atlantic.

What makes us different

Most migration tools hide behind WordPress plugins with monthly subscriptions.

We did our best to reduce this bureaucracy to the bare minimum: in Blog Porter there are no plans or subscriptions, you only pay for what you export. There's no account creation required and no coding skills needed.
